Upon finishing Combust by L. Wilder I realized that this was the last book in her series Devil Chaser's MC and it made me really sad. I felt sad because it is a farewell to characters that I have come to know so well. I also felt sad because I really didn't want this to be the end. This series is about sexy alpha heroes romancing strong minded heroines and saying goodbye saddens me. With all this said, Combust is a great ending to a tremendous MC series! I really enjoyed reading Dillion aka Sheppard and Ana's story.

This was a softer side of Sheppard that we previously had not seen. His dominant alpha side was still there, but a tender loving side entered the picture when he found his Angel. Ana is as intelligent as she is beautiful - inside and out. Her goal has always been to help others by becoming a doctor. She has almost obtained it when her residency at the local hospital is suspended for made up charges against her character, moral code and skill as a doctor!

The chemistry between them begins when Ana finds her knight in shining armor with three bullets in him, bleeding out and dying on the riverbank near her home. She uses all her knowledge, skill and strength to bring him back to the land of the living. She knows that he is special even without words spoken between them. When a stalker begins a more aggressive approach to Ana, Sheppard steps in and rejoins the outside world. All the brothers and their "ole ladies" rally around to help overcome the evil that is chasing her and harming other innocent victims.

Would I recommend this book: Yes! Once again, Leslie Wilder has given us a great book filled with twists and turns, drama and love, with the main characters finally ending up with their happily ever after. Warning this is a hot, sexy read that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Ms. Wilder is a gifted author and storyteller. Personally, I can't wait to see what she will come up with next. Thank you for the amazing series and your gift of entertainment and creativity. I am anxiously awaiting her new book about Maverick and his gang.

Ana has worked so hard to get where she is, her desire to a doctor & a good one causes her to ask questions with regards to some patients....called in to her boss' office she is totally unprepared to find , she is suspended due to bogus charges. She is heartbroken. She knows something is wrong,but no one will listen. She talks to her close friend & neighbor. Giving herself time to figure out what is happening.... she makes plans to go with her dad to take her mind off everything. While waiting for him, she goes for a walk on her peaceful trail down by the water....Her life is about to change forever.....there she finds a very nearly dead Dillon. He has been shot & has been in the water too long..... Her dad comes looking for her, takes in the problem, helps her get him to her house.....Her Dr persona in full effect...she takes care of him, treats him, then watches over him.... meanwhile her dad is leery & warns her to not get attached... several days pass, her patient is weak but has some improvement. As the days pass, her dad has been by with supplies, he has a private talk with Dillon, they decide it's best for Ana to keep it quiet that he is there, not bring trouble to her door. Her dad has read about a shooting which happened. All his friends believe he is dead....for now, until he is stronger, it's best for them both. Then there is a major snow storm, Ana & Dillon grow closer, each have feelings for the other....threats to her still happen, she was followed, harassing ph calls, then Stephen borrows her car, a horrible accident, that was not an accident, someone wants her dead....Dillon vows to protect with his life, he convinces her dad, takes her to the one place he knows she will be...his MC clubhouse....she is his & they will help to get her life back......so much happens so fast, Stephen is kidnapped, murdered, a warning to her.....but the resident computer geek finds much....A plan is made to take down the guilty parties who are involved....the Bishop calls in some markers, a late night visit to one of the guilty, he fills in the blanks....all evidence is printed & left with him, police arrive, arrests are made, late night visitors became ghosts.....Ana & Dillon have each other & she can now finish her residency to become Dr. Ana......Love is grand & this story was off the chain!!!
